My first T/C contender G2

I think I'm going to really like it.
Opens up eazy peasy..
Locks up my barrels nice and tight.
Trigger is slightly heavy.. but crisp. No creep.
Although?
The trigger assembly, will slide side to side in the frame........is this normal?
I think ? Once I get a trigger job done on it.
I'm gonna love it.

I think you'll like it a lot. I have not noticed any trigger side-play in mine, but I wasn't really looking for any. You can safely get the triggers down to about a pound.

Well it's not ? Exactly the trigger itself..
It's the triggers trigger guard housing..
The whole thing has some play in the frame.
Maybe that's how it was designed?
My old G1 contenders have no play in them anywhere.

Hummmm?
Even with the stiff trigger (but crisp)
She's shooting good.
I do like the G2

IHMSA80x80 12-04-2019 01:30 PM

I believe that is just in the design. The G2 is based off the Encore action, which has some looseness just like mine.

I had the top TC gunsmith work on my new G2 trigger, and he said the design of the
is not like the original Contender, which you could get safely dow into the single digit ounces range. About a pound id the best you can get with the G2/Encore design. I'm happy with mine at 1 pound, though that is more than I prefer.

Thanks for your help.
Going to get mine worked over soon.
Glad I went with a stainless frame.

Taking mine down to the gunsmith.
Get a trigger job done.
Been fireforming some 7-30 waters brass.
I'm REALLY liking this G2.
Maybe? Get a hammer extension also..

IHMSA80x80 12-10-2019 02:20 PM

TC doesn't recommend using a hammer extension, can cause hammer breakage. I use higher scope mounts on my scope barrels so it is never a problem.

Nice looking handguns.
Iím thinking about getting a stainless G2 to go with my G1. I never take my trigger pull down below 1 pound anyway. I use most my firearms for field use.

For me, MOA is Minute of Areacode :D:D

Ha!:D

My G2 is a pound. my 2 Contender frames are 8 and 10 ounces on their trigger pulls. Most of my XP-100's are 6 ounces or less (not factory triggers).

Those are awesome handguns that you have.
For field use I usually don’t go below 3# trigger pull. Totally different uses. My skill level couldn’t take advantage of the excellent triggers you have.
