I just purchased a used Izhmash cm-2 and was wanting to attach my Harris bipod to the front rail. Is their a adapter available I could buy or is a gunsmith going to have to make this part?

Fore-End Rail Compatible With Accessories

What you need is a fore-end rail that is compatible with the accessories you intend to mount.

The palm rest is just another reason you should seriously consider replacing the rail.

You are still going to be miles ahead of what you would have spent on an Anschutz.
BTW, the CM-2 doesn't really have a handstop, just a sling swivel.
She also needs a better selection of front sight inserts than what comes with the rifle.
The plastic insets are my personal favorite and they are $20 for a set.

Harris Bi-pod adapter

Here is an alternative to replacing your CM-2's rail.

Check out the Harris Bi-pod website
http://harrisbipods.com/

They show two adapters for rails.
Both are around $12.00 each.

Use your dial caliper and measure your
CM-2 rail's inside diameter.

Order to fit, if possible.
If not, order the next size up and
use a dremel tool to custom fit.

The bipods we use in smallbore is more of a rifle rest or substitute for laying the rifle on it's side. They aren't meant to shoot off of like the Harris bipod.
Anyway, we're halfway through the offseason and the weather has prevented me from practicing anything other than offhand with an air rifle in my basement.
To all my northern friends here on RFC, you can come get your winter back, I don't want it anymore.:D

Thanks everybody---I found an adapter at Midway. Hope it fits---it,s for european rails. If this gun shoots half as good as it looks I'll be a happy camper.

Harris: HB6 - Stud - For European Size Rails (3/8" across rail slot)

Won't work-too wide--base of adapter is .496---my rail is .416. I know i could machine that down to fit but the (mass) of adapter is .380 and my rail is only .264---Hope this makes some sense but the bottom line is "it's just to wide from top to bottom.
