Big Problem! HELP!

 While trying to remove my Kidd bolt from my Kidd receiver, the spring guide bar came out of it's socket and everything is STUCK! Is there a way to get this apart?

Never mind. I just got it apart. Oh what a relief it is!

Don't feel bad.. I too have done that.. takes work and angle manipulation+torque to get it free'd up:bthumb: Some years back I gave up on one and took my Dremel to it/cut the rod..dagnabit and sonnybeaches!:o Chocked it up to the sheer numbers.. after a few hundred it was bound to happen..heavy on the bound.

Removing and reinstalling any 10/22 bolt is not always the piece of cake all those videos claim, especially with a high tension spring.

The other day I was putting in a new Kidd bolt and charging handle/spring kit and got my right thumb jammed between the bolt and ejection port. Yeow!

I couldn’t get a grip with my left hand or pull my thumb right out from the bind and those edges are well radiused and sharp. Was cutting into my nail and skin pad. No one else was home to help.

So I summoned up some rare pain-tolerance courage and left hand strength and wriggled it free. Quite painful but no damage.

Next time I’m going to enlist a third hand ahead of time. I just don’t have leathery gunsmith hands.

One suggestion: the Gunsmither 10/22 Bolt Bar.
