Finally got my hands on the Crazy Ivan Takedown Chassis

You can get some info on it here. Clearly, I have my rifles set up a bit backwards, but have a fix for that in the works.

Here's one of my Takedowns in the new chassis. Thanks to the light weight of the chassis/handguard and the barrel, that's 4.55 pounds. Even with the suppressor installed, it's still lighter than a factory rifle with a fixed barrel.

I've got the optic mount on order, and will swap the scope for a barrel-mounted red dot. Then it will be light and quiet.

If you're the guy with that nice walnut takedown stock, I don't have much of an argument. Otherwise, no. Both are quite attractive.

I got my weight from the standard wood carbine. But it will get weighed again without the scope, and with a suppressor and red dot.

Nice looking but kinda defeats the purpose of the takedown doesn’t it??

well, I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder..but then again I've never considered any of my pistol gripped firearms as particularly good looking..purposeful looking, but not pretty ;)

but how do you figure the stock defeats the TD's capability to be taken down?

unless you're talking about the bit of added space needed by the pistol grip configuration to fit in a bag when taken down?
