Ever since I was a kid, I've loved old fighter planes....had posters all over my wall growing up .

When I started kicking around ideas for a new 10/22 build, I wanted to have a stock painted in a P51 Mustang theme. So I contacted an amazing painter whose done some work for me in the past, and ran the idea by him. He loved the idea and said he'd be able to throw something together for me .

Here's the finished product...

-"P51 Mustang" Raptor stock done by Andre Breaux from Excess Paint and Custom Airbrushing
-polished factory Ruger receiver
-volquartsen THM carbon fiber barrel with their forward blow comp
-volquartsen match hammer & sear
-rimfire technologies trigger and bolt handle
-Kidd scalloped bolt
-DNZ scope mount
-Zeiss Terra 3-9x42 scope

Just wanted to share,

-Langford

Very unique and cool stock...nice tribute to the greatest piston engined fighter ever made.

Extremely cool!

It's a plane I have liked since childhood. I had the privilege of going on a week long sailing trip with my Dad and two of his friends. All 3 were WWII vets, the one gentleman flew the P-51. He flew bomber escort missions from England to Germany. He had much of his plane's gun camera footage and a lot of cool stories.

If your rifle shoots half as good as it looks, you will have struck gold.

Dad flew B-17 bombers out of England with the 91st Bombardment Group. Who knows, maybe he was escorted by your friend.

Very cool, great idea. Your painter seems to have done an excellent job catching the theme you were going for, he did an awesome job. Now you've got my imagination going......

I'm assuming, Kyle, that Andre worked his magic with that P-51 creation? Beautiful! Congratulations.

I saw the stock pictures you posted and couldn't wait to see the finished build. That looks perfect and my 7yo wants to build one like that now.

What height mount did you use from dnz?

I built my son what I think is a beautiful 10/22, but he he's calling dibs on the P51 build, he calls it his "superhero gun". He's only 3, so not quite ready for it yet.

I'm really not sure on the DNZ height, I'll have to measure and get back to you. Bought it quite a while ago, don't remember any longer.
