Weathery XXII Tube Fed

Hi Folks.

Picked this little gem up recently and put a Leupold M8-4 on it.
Got it out today to sight it in. This is my first weatherby and I have to say , it is a joy to shoot.
Hard to say just how accurate it can be but I did get the little scope dialed in to where shots were touching each other at 35 yards with just plain ole Winchester m22 ammo.
At some point in its life someone must have got some cleaner on the butt pad so it was a little mushy. I will contact Weatherby and see if I can get a replacement for it.
I think this little gun is a keeper.
Slappy.

Beautiful rifle, I've got plenty of rimfires but if I get another semi auto I think one like yours is what I want. I have had a couple of magazine fed Weatherby rifles and they shot great. You will love it, beautiful wood.

Sometimes,it's the nature of rubber butt pads to deteriorate with age.It doesn't mean that solvent hit it.
I doubt that Weatherby has a replacement. Most likely, you'll have to fit a Pachmeyr.

For years it was my most accurate 22 rifle, I bought one of the Japanese ones back when they were still being produced. They are very nice rifles. Enjoy it.

Back in those days, I lusted for the Weatherby and the Remington 541-S. I eventually got the Remington. Also have the bolt action Mark XXII as well.

Now that is truly a nice stock! Great find. I hadn't seen a tube fed semi-auto XXII before very nice. I had that same scope on my bolt XXII. For what it's worth, my older Italian XXII gun shot the M22 awful; I had much better luck with the CCI SV & Federal AutoMatch.

Have fun with it, there are no doubt many folks envious of that particular gun. Me included.

Wow! Another very nice looking Mark XXII. I may have to keep my eyes open for one of the tube fed SAs.

Something about those Weatherby stocks....
