He's talking about this spec. The can has an O-ring in it that the forward smooth section of the barrel engages. The can he has will work on a standard threaded barrel if the length of the thread is .400 or shorter if I remember correctly. If it's any longer the can will bottom on the O-ring before reaching the shoulder. The primary purpose of the O-ring is to keep the can from spinning off when only hand tightened but it does prevent gas leakage. That's not my experience, and I just looked to be sure. The nipple of the SilencerCo threaded muzzle fits completely inside the O-Ring and the inside diameter
of the O-Ring seals the threads from the blast.
I almost sold my Kidd barrel because the threads got so dirty with an Element 2. It's not as bad with a Spectre II, I think because the O-Ring seals or almost seals the muzzle threads at the O-Ring shoulder...Tom
