I am building a 52c winchester sporter and trying to decide how to bed the action by that I mean should I use the L shaped piece of steel I assume is supposed to act as a recoil lug, or pillar bed either by solid turned pillars or poured liquid steel or j-b pillars.
I have read I believe on this site where one guy had removed the bracket and pillar bedded to improve accuracy on 52 repo's. Thanks .

Maybe a better place for your question

There is a forum dedicated to a variety of stuff that relates to stocks.

It is :

"Stocks: Making, Repairing, Refinishing, Modifying, and Bedding"

You might want to move your thread to there as you will get more "press" generally and the folks that contribute are pretty talented.

If you want it moved you can PM "Jee" who is the moderator for that forum.
