SWG is active on the other Ruger pistol threads and I though he might see that this one had returned to life and make a comment since three of us had expressed interest.

I ordered the base PicketWire posted about. I see what's what with this one. I've found that a red dot on other pistols has been a big help and I'm really interested to see if it's me or that the pistol is just not capable of good accuracy.

One of these sights will likely be able to easily take the abuse of the slide moving. The only question I would have is can the dovetail on the aluminum slide take the impact without loosening. I think I would be looking for a small dot moa and one that is very light until I could assess the strength of the slide material. 1917

Definately a small one. I have one that is supposed to weigh less than an ounce that will be used. In fact I'll weight it later today just to confirm if that's correct.

the mount I used below

https://www.midwayusa.com/product/84...aluminum-matte

the red dot I used below

https://www.midwayusa.com/product/81...oa-dot-reticle

The above items worked on the sr22 without any problems, sorry no pictures & I sold the sr22.

Side note - I would not buy another jpoint red dot but this is based on the two I bought back when jpoints was about the only choice. No brightness adjustment & the big one only 1 year warranty (only 1 of the 2 still work)
