I'll bet you didn't expect your $300 barrel to have problems chambering rounds either, did you? Have you contacted the barrel maker and asked them about your problems?

I did contact Lilja, the tenon specs appear to be within limits according to Mr. Lilja.

I wonder if anyone has used this combination of Lilja barrel and KIDD receiver, and how was the fit?

New build problem

When installing components from different sources, there will always "depend upon the situation" occur a situation at times, where the edge of chamber may have a minute sharp edge, and I have had to use my bullet shaped, Cratex polishing point to very lightly kiss the entrance of chamber to smooth out, and usually corrects the shaving. I don't know how many friends with spitting lead in their 44 S&W, 44mags, that I have corrected forcing cone with the polishing the entry way. If everything is in correct alignment, the very slightly kissing the entry way of chamber, has cured several of my "top of line" barrels. I do this to all my competing, match rifles/pistols.
The one thing about any after market barrel being snug, is that I have never had any barrel droop! I would be glad the fit is snug, and with a search, and listening to the info on this site, you will see that many have applied some heat/cold to each piece, and viola, the barrel goes in, and should not need much torque on that block, as the fitting is so secure---almost like being threaded. If that barrel just flopped in, I would not be satisfied, as I know it will never be as secure as a snug fitted one.
Part of the excellent info on this site, for the quest of 'one hole', is to use the search, and to adhear to the advise given.
Good luck

Are you using stock Ruger mag? 10 rounds? How do the mags fit? Could the problem be with the magazine release and plunger?

Yes, mags are the only thing that's stock. Tried brand new ones and used ones, tried heavier plunger spring as well, no change.

Eliminating a sharp edge might stop the shave but what about a dinged bullet instead? Damaged bullets either way ain’t gonna fly to where there’re supposed to go. Send in the entire barreled action including the trigger and allow Tony Kidd to figger what’s the problem, and to fix it if’n it’s on his end.
