Just had someone in town stop by to look at the Fit. Their daughter just turned 17. Thought 5K was a great price........until the husband stops by. Pssssst..............don't tell anyone, but my bottom line is $4500.
I ain't on the left and
I ain't on the right
I ain't even sure I got a dog in this fight
I drive a 2015 Toyota Corolla....32 mpg, the spousal unit has a 2009 PT Cruiser that she loves....its her second one, she had a 2001 previously. Next vehicle will be shared and probably a small SUV, Toyota RAV4 if they are still making them in 5 years.
I pointed out a Rav4 to my wife. She didn't make a sound, just slapped my finger down and kept walking toward the dealership door. I knew I was wasting my time but had to try.
I just got a brand new, 2017 pair of Nike. They get great milage in my 3 block walk to the shop and back. If I'm a hurry then I have a 1964 Rollfast bicycle. It gets me there soon enough. In crappy weather or if I need to tote some stuff along with me, then my good old $400 1993 chevy pickup does it's job.
Not daily drivers is play time. That's a whole different story there.
My daily driver is my personally owned work vehicle. Which is a 2013 Mazda 5 minivan bought in the fall 2015 to replace my totalled 2006 Toyota Matrix that had 186,000 miles on it. The Matrix was also my personally owned work vehicle, which I meant to get at least 250,000 miles out of. Oh well.
The Mazda 5 just hit 65,000 miles. I can carry all six of the family in it if I pull my work tools out of it. Gas mileage runs me 21 to 31 depending on driving conditions.
