I inherited a Remington 513 target rifle . It is missing the plug screws for the holes in the barrel where scope blocks would be mounted. Anyone know the diameter and pitch of these screws, I would like to order some from Brownells. Otherwise, does anyone have 4 of these screws lying around they would part with? Thanks
if your referring to the ones on barrel they are definitely not 6-48 - my old Remington factory repair manual shows them as being - .139 diam. / 44 tpi. + .118 overall length -
That's interesting, I didn't realize that they used a 6-44. The only 513T I have now is a CMP military surplus and isn't drilled and tapped for scope blocks. I can't remember if the civilian model I sold a few years ago had scope blocks on it.
I appreciate your information, I can always learn something from this forum.
just checked all my 513's + spare barrels including one new old stock one , all are the .139 dia. X44 tpi as stated in factory manual - proper screw is pictured on left , 6-48 is on right - i have never seen a factory barrel with a # 6 at all -
I have plugged holes with black silicone sealer when I did not have the plugs. Makes it less visible, and easily removable, but obviously not for the purists.
