I may have a shooter!

Hi folks,

First I have to say thank you so much for suggestions and recommendations on setting up my 452 American.

I finally got a chance to shoot it today. Just half an hour at lunch to sneak to the local indoor range. So only shot 50 rounds at 25 yards.
After a few elevation and windage adjustments it was shooting where I pointed.

Used my first bullet hole as aiming point.
Had a chair and front rest only (no elbow or rear support) .

This was my tightest 5 round group.

I think this will be a shooter and now anxious to get it sighted for longer yardage.

Not too shabby! I'd be pleased with the new rifle as I'm sure you are. Show us more targets.

Here's a couple of the other groups before I calmed down and was still making adjustments.
Am using a Leupold VX II 4-12 AO.
First shots were at 4X then moved to 12x, which let me see the target better and gave the best group.
Am thinking I'll need higher power to get anything close to this at 100 yards. My eyes aren't what they used to be.

Not impressed. You missed the dime on every target.

Seriously, looks like you have a winner!

I haven't done anything to her yet, totally stock. Today is the first time it was ever shot (other than when the factory tested before selling).
Fed her Wolf Match Target 40gr.
Though I'm thinking of installing a Yo Dave trigger mod.

I wouldn't touch it. How could you improve a five shot one hole. You go messing around and you might lose the one hole.SW

You are off to a good start.Move out to fifty and shoot a few 100 rounds or so to see where u are at.Fifty is where you will see differences faster than 25 yds.It appears to be a stable shooter and all you need is some seat time to get a baseline.I like it.

I'd say you're right. Gotta love it when a new gun shoots like that right out of the box.

Why do we guys always have to "sneak" to the range or the golf course? Is there some genetic defect we have that causes us to feel guilty? Or do the women in our lives have us conditioned to to this sentiment?

Just sayin.
