Kidd Supergrade build

I had a Kidd 2 stage trigger and a Titan stock on another 10-22 build. I ordered a Supergrade barreled action, bolt, guide rod, and a Titan rear anchor. Just go it together last night. It has Kidd 20 moa base and a Nightforce 8 x 32 benchrest, it is a little overkill for a rimfire, but I had it. This gun will be for long range steel matches.

Nothing overkill on your scope. Where I live these days in rimfire, 32X would be a starting point. My new build will have 60X for 50yds. Not a 10/22, but to bring light to the fact that your scope is NOT overkill in any way. Scope horsepower is critical, along with a bunch of other things, to shooting with the competition in rimfire. Depending on your discipline, you may have the perfect scope.

Very nice looking rifle. Good luck in your upcoming matches.

Overkill?
Just think what it would look like with the sunshade installed. Yikes!
The aesthetics may be less than ideal, however the results speak for themselves.

So if your looking for maximum performance, who cares about the look. Go for it.
Anschutz 1727F .17hmr.

These are the two best targets I've ever shot.
Smallest 5 shot group at 50yds.
I have no target that I'm more proud of.
This is a really tough target with a .22.
However with a .17hmr, the bullet hole is 30% smaller.
Same impact point, but with the smaller hole, its's so..... hard to clip the ten ring.

Smooth

This was shot on my 7th attempt of the maximum of twelve that I'll shoot for any RFC contest. The scope was a big part of this.

Thanks

Thanks for your post, I have been considering that build.
I would want to use it out to 200 yards in Sniper Rimfire steel.
That is the first post of the NEW Supergrade I have seen.
Please post more results as you get them.
Thanks , Tap

Tap,
Long Range steel is what I want to shoot. I have some places to shoot, but no matches close, guess I will have to start one myself. A friend and myself have shot match stick into, split playing cards at 50 yds. We gum balls (1/2") hot glued to golf tees and shot them at 100 yds with out hitting the tee, if you hit the tee, it is a miss.
We also shot mini clays 60mm (2.5") and rimfire rifle sil. chickens at 220yds. great fun.

More shooting updates. Eley Target shot very well in the last outing. I pick up more Target, Club, and Edge. I shot a total of 45 - 5 shot groups, at 50 yds, off of bi-pods and rear bag on a bench. Conditions were foggy, cool, very little wind.

Club shot a 15 group agg. of 0.3171" small group 0.201" large group 0.479"

Target shot a 11 group agg. of 0.3207" small group 0.229" large group 0.440".

Edge shot a 19 group agg. of 0.3437" small group 0.243" large group 0.547"
The Edge was a older lot, it did not have the flat point like the new stuff, maybe the new stuff would shoot better. Edge is nearly twice the cost as of Club, so I am going with Club.

Club shot the best, by only having 2 groups over 0.4". Target was next with 3 groups over 0.4". I thought Edge would be the best, but it had 4 groups over 0.5".
A few weeks ago Target shot very well at 220 yds. Too foggy to shoot past 50 yds. today. I will updated when I can shoot at longer rangers.

Mark

Nice Rifle MarkS! I'm sure it will serve you well at your shoots. How much adjustment do you have left in the scope? Yards max?

Brad,

I have 20 moa in the base, an other 20 moa in the rings. The scope has 60 moa, I have 55 moa left. That will get me out to about 350 yds.
