Hey Brent,
Take care. I hope the issues you speak of are resolved successfully. Drop in and say hello once in awhile.

Really depends upon how and why you press the trigger, and everything in between with a now DA/SA.

I press because it is there...I want the 1st shot on target.

You skinny boys are beginning to bore me. Currently 2400 calories per day and 150 .22 cartridges as a supplement.

Lead is an essential element for some . . .

I'd need to be a lot more toned up and in shape to be anywhere near skinny (I'm not). I'm sure Kevin is though.

Not aimed at you except inasmuch that your comment brought the memory-slash-thought back to the fore.

I know a few gals, cousin being one, who think "thin" is all that is required to be healthy. I point out to her that while perhaps attractive thin isn't enough to count as healthy if your little toothpick arms won't lift a gallon of milk into the shopping cart. She was always "big boned" in her youth (at least that was her excuse) but slimmed down dramatically in later adulthood as she got fixated on getting "thin" at, IMO, the expense of healthy.

My wife went to school with girl that is now in that mode of thin is everything.

I have to say that when I weighed in the 130-145 range that was probably the best I was but some of that was due to my age. I was by many peoples accounting skinny. Now I am @ around 205 and don't look fat or that fat. I would say I can maybe lose a little.

TMIMITW's take on "weight" is that it is, at best, a rough guideline given that muscle weighs more than fat. He says that especially in the case of men it's the depth of the navel one should use as a guide. Round about measure of BMI, I guess. He also says "a man has a problem if his belly is the first part of his torso to enter the room."

Other random thoughts while finishing that second cup of coffee:

Missed out on an elk tag two years in a row now. A consequence of that is that I still have not "upgraded" my GPS unit . (meaning: haven't replaced it with one that displays topo maps) since I have no perceived need for that capability in the local area. I still carry a paper map when I'm out and about (the Jeep's map case is loaded with map coverage of just about the whole county) but since I know it like the back of my hand (where did that mole come from!?) I've never seen a need for a GPS that did anything but mark waypoints so I can get back to whatever spot I've marked. This is probably like the buying a new computer deal -- the longer you put it off the more capable and whizzbang the one you eventually get will be.

Twice now I've found myself in the Polaris and reaching for the binocular that wasn't there. Guess I need to find a place to store it there that won't get it covered with dust. I wonder if the glove box would work. Might have to put a little padding in it.

The world is watching Korea and the Mid-East but there are some interesting developments unfolding down in South America. I'll bet Venezuelans wish they had some version of the 2nd Amendment backing them up.

Took some recycle material out to the bin in the garage last night and watched a mouse scurry for cover when I flipped on the light. There are several of Al's most-powerful-mousetraps-in-the-galaxy out there. Inspection revealed about half of them were missing bait even though trap wasn't sprung. Desert rodents are more cautious than Yupper rodents, I guess. Traps rebaited and some repositioned in an effort to snare the scoundrel. Need to examine the jambs on the garage door to see how it might have gained entry. Pretty hard to rodent proof those doors, though. Might have to lock the cats in there overnight.

Chicken coop needs to be cleaned out. That might be why I'm making this cup of coffee last as long as it has.

Yes I agree. My statement was as much tongue-in-cheek as anything.
I know that some of my weight loss in the past couple of years is lost muscle mass. I'm not happy about that, but I can still do a few push/pull-ups, lift a gallon of milk into a shopping cart, and perform Steev's geezer sit and get up again test.
And I can still walk all day in varied terrain, and without having to have a water bottle in my hand at the ready in case I should be in danger of SDS (Sudden Dehydration Syndrome, or, Students for a Democratic Society, if you remember the '60s better than last week)

What is his standard of naval depth versus BMI?

Turkey bears some watching as well. The spousal unit informed that the majority of Turks living in Deutschland voted in favor of Erdogan's expanded unilateral power.

Did you know grits are made from grain that is soaked in lye on a porch? Steve told me that, or perhaps it was JG. It was one of them Hoosiers.

165 sounds pretty skinny to me, unless you look up to a toadstool.

I did about an hours worth of reading on this last night. If'n they're not careful, capitalism could break out down there.
Note that the current regime has collected, and disposed of all of the firearms possessed by the populace. First thing they did.

Please, don't get me started on the Turks. T. E. Lawrence liked them more than I do.

Wow, Sophia. Today's events in Venezuela are interesting. Looks like Maduro might be in real trouble.

Venezuela has one of the world's largest oil reserves, yet languishes in poverty. That's Socialism for you. Maduro looks like he's enjoying walking on his two hind legs, and living in the farm house, while everyone else eats off of the barn floor.

Owls are territorial. If you go outside and ask these queries, you'll likely get a response.
Dang it, Don, you got it wrong again! There's an extra note in the 2nd phrase, like OW said, "Who cooks for you? Who cooks for you all?

I used to talk to them, but then wondered if that was a mating call or was just arguing with them. And what if owls have poor eyesight and one flies into my face, either to mate or settle the argument?

You don't mention units, but if inches, that's a terrible waist size! If cm, it's 2.54 times terribler.

That's great. Up until now, 1917 is the only one to admit to trying it.

Well I have been weighing in @ 208 lately. I did just eat lunch so I might could get 210 to dial up. Most people don't believe I weigh as much as I do.

Yes on the muscle vs fat. Strength to weight ratio, how many chins and does the back of they neck look like a pack of hot dogs are other gauges. Of course the measure of success to some is to have a drink one hand, a cigar in the other and able to drive their Cadillac with their stomach.

The thought of having to clean out a chicken coop will help me skip dinner.

Weight??

I hope I'm not banned from this site, but I did find teaching skiing over the last 40 years helped me keep my weight in the 130lb range. Summers, it kinda creeps up to around 135. At the tender age of 75 plus, I feel like I'm hangin together OK.

Now, if I can just remember why I started this reply.

To me mobility is the big issue as one gets older. Being unable to get from point A to B ain't good.
