Well thank you. Butt kicking, I don't know about that.

However I just got off the phone with my friends who will be shooting Silhouette for the first time tomorrow. They both shoot NRA High Power Matches which includes off-hand shooting. They did a bit of practicing today on a scaled 50yd target, and lets just say that I'll have my hands full not getting my behind kicked tomorrow.

The teacher may get schooled by the students.

Smooth

***50-Yd IRONS ENTRY***
DATE: 18 February, 2017
SCORES: 197-1X
NAME: bberg7794 (Brian, 50)
LOCATION: St. Lawrence County, NY
GUN: BSA International ISU (MK IV)
GUN SETUP: ___Scope __X_Iron sights ___Sling
AMMO: CCI SV
INDIV TGTS SCORES: 36, 41, 40, 44, 36
NOTES: Parker Hale PH 25C/PH-1 rear/front, shooting coat, no palm rest or sling.

50 yard iron sight practice, 16 April, 2017
Name: bberg7794 (Brian, 50)
Location: St. Lawrence County, NY
Gun: BSA International ISU (MK IV)
Gun setup: ___Scope __X_Iron sights ___Sling
Sights: Parker Hale PH 25C/PH-1 rear/front. Gehmann adjustable iris rear, 3.6 mm clear aperture in front.
Ammo: CCI SV
Conditions: 68 degrees, winds gusting to 24 mph quartering from behind with heavy rain toward the end of the second target.
INDIV TGTS SCORES:

Target no. 1: 193-0X, 37, 42, 43, 38, 33 (2-5's, 4-6's, 4-7's, 5-8's, 9-9's, 1-10)

Target no. 2: 197-1X, 36, 41, 40, 44, 36 (4-5's, 1-6, 2-7's, 8-8's, 7-9's, 3-10's)

Notes: First outdoor targets since February. The wind was very gusty (officially 24 mph, but seemed higher), so I was trying to use it as a lesson in patience, taking a shot or two during the relatively quiet moments, such as they were. On the last bull of the second target, the wind really came up and sideways rain started. I had set out two 25 yard targets too, but the wind ripped both 25 yard targets from their frames. I decided to pack it in when I became worried that my spotting scope would blow over. All in all, I was happy I went to the range though.

My target lis like Smoothtrigger. One complete miss. This was on the target before last, I pulled it together and shot a good one after that.

Bulls are in the orentation and order I shot them. No warm up, just shoot.

Smooth's target looks like a 38 last bull.

David

25 Yard Iron sight practice/4-23-2017
Score: 467-11X
Name: 72coupe/Roy Woodman
Location: Wichita Falls, Tx
Gun: Kimber 82G
Setup: Factory sights/no sling/no palm rest/no hook
Ammo: Norma Match
Individual Target Scores: 96-4X, 93-1X, 92-2X, 95-3X, 91-1X one 7, seven 8s.
Notes: Got a new shooting coat and it pinches me in all new places. It will take me a while to get it broken in. But I think it will eventually improve my scores.

25 Yard Scope Practice/2-23-2017
Score: 422-3X
Name: 72coupe/Roy Woodman
Location: Wichita Falls, Tx
Gun: Ruger Carbine
Setup: 4X Simmons scope
Ammo: Norma Match
Individual Target Scores: 88-1X, 79, 88-2X, 85, 82
Notes: The scope on this rifle seems to be a problem. The group on the last target is small but 3 minutes high and 3 1/2 minutes left. I shot a single target from the bench and got a very similar group in the same position.

25 Yard Scope Entry/4-23-2017
Score: 457-5X
Name: 72coupe/Roy Woodman
Location: Wichita Falls, Tx
Gun: Norinco JW15
Setup: Weaver 4X16 scope (I loaned my little Nikon to a junior shooter)
Ammo: Norma Match
Individual Target Scores: 89-2X, 93-2X, 89-1X, 92, 94 one 7, seven 8s
Notes: I put a redneck trigger stop on this little rifle and it did help some but with the combination of a new shooting coat and getting used to the new trigger pull and the much higher magnification scope I don't think I got the best outcome.

"Smooth's target looks like a 38 last bull."

You are correct. I didn't add up bull #4 correctly.

I've corrected the post, but not the photo.

Good catch.

Smooth

I would like to shoot this match again this month. I am not happy with this score, but time will not allow a reshoot.

Smooth, all:
You can edit/change entry posts anytime before midnight, last day of the month...
I don't consider the pix, just the text in the entry posts.
I take what is in the entry form posts, each shooters' highest of the month.
