LCI replacement: Tandemkross vs Volquartsen. Who has them and what are your thoughts/recommendations on either.

I got a better fit with my Volquartsen LCI. And the finish on my TK rubs off.

As they say, YMMV.

Bruce is the guy who pioneered the LCI filler to perfection. His carbon steel fillers are "hot blued". I've gotten Ruger Mark III guns in here with the same issue as posted above. The black spray paint peels easily and rubs off. Poor quality.

I just took the original Ruger plastic LCI out, took the little metal plate off and filed the rest down and refitted. Works perfectly without any extra costs.

Others have also done that. A couple of those folks also reported out-of-battery discharges where the rimfire case rim blew out the plastic LCI to smithereens.
Cheap way to go though.

Bruce has fillers that are a perfect match for whatever finish your pistol has. Matte blued, glossy blued, or stainless. The look and fit are awesome! They're also $5 cheeper than the copycat fillers.

I'm using a Volquartsen & Bruce's fillers, and I like either stainless for stainless and prefer to leave it open on the blue/black. My black guns are used with suppressors.

Buy from Bruce. Perfect fit and finish. It's a steal for what he charges.
