1922

You have an early 1922MI that was upgraded to M2 bolt, but not marked at the time of the up grade. Could have been done by the owner. Looks like it has an after market magazine.

Let's see the buttplate. Mine came with a $350 National Match version...

Did you clean up the bolt, or is it only corroded on one side?

Either way, if it shoots well, $900 isn't bad.

Here's mine: http://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums...744&highlight=

Enjoy!!!

ChuckBiscuits

Yours is very nice

mine not so nice

We'll have to see how it shoots

here's my Butt plate

A friend said I could take some steel wool to the bolt and clean it uo
it's just the top, but then it wouldn't look right

I could electro pencil it too

I ordered a 5/8" aperture disk with .040 hole
and I'm gonna shoot it

i wish i could find such deals oin such obscure places , i think that is fantastic , the effort to clean her up will be well worth it and it should pay back if you are so inclined i would think ,

Not my area of interest, but....

About thirty years ago,I found one in a gun shop.Heavily modified,a wood cheek piece professionally added,no sights, only scope blocks.Still a nice looking gun, that had been loved, and probably came in from an estate. The price was right my non expert opinion($295) The fact that Unertl scopes were scarce and would cost much more than the gun, held me off.

900 us dollars, not to me in that condition, 50 more and you could buy a Winchester 52D off of the trading post.

Just my opinion

Provided he wanted a 52D,but these guns are in their own category. That said,I'm inclined to agree with you.
With the internet, far fewer bargains to be found at yard sales, etc.
I always surprised when I read about an obscure find, and it priced right where a shop might have it. I wouldn't be surprised if dealers sometimes plant guns at flea markets, etc. If the thought crossed my mind,it's happened.

Was on my bucket list
Saw a few dogs fir $1200+ over the years
Had several Ds, Cs pre A
But they don't feel like a Springfield on your arms

Took 5th that day against 2 Annie's a Rem37 & a 40x
But it was funner than shooting my Annie I woulda still placed 5th and burned $50 in better ammo
Left my Kimber in the truck as a loaner

Thanks for your posts fellas
