He approached myself and another shooter between heavy gun and hunting rifle matches one Saturday a nd opened a line of inquiry (about what specifically I can't recall) desiring to add to his knowledge. After a few moments of discussion I asked if he wanted to know how the very best shooters managed their great scores. He very eagerly agreed he did.
Me: "you know how the crosshair is hard to keep on the animal?
Him: "yes, yes!"
Me: "you know how the target looks when the crosshair is on it?"
Him: "yes, yes!"
Me: "pull the trigger at that time. That's how the really good ones do it."
Him: (grumbling and mumbling) walks away.

There ain't no easy fix. The offhand game is tough.
Nice, thanks for the laugh Boyd, sums it up well.
I guess if it was easy I would have quit a long time ago.
This game is many things to many people, but I've never heard anyone say it was boring.
I will try to remember your advice next time out !

Cloudy, 84*, full value wind, L-R, @ 10 mph. I can't put my finger on how I shoot this 50 yd. match so well, but my 25 yd. scores are mediocre. I may be concentrating harder on the 50 yd., but I am not sure.

Rifle: Ruger 10/22 custom
Scope : Sightron Si Tac 4-12x40 @ 12x
Ammo: Aguila SV

Rifle : CZ 455 Lux
Sights: Brno Aperture sights
Ammo: Aguila SV
Targets: 1) 90-2X, 2) 93-1X, 3) 90-2X 4) 87-1X, 5) 90-2X
Total: 450-8X

Conditions : Hot mid to upper 80's , humid , light wind to start with gusty winds by the time I finished .
These are practice scores as I've already shot a 467-7X scoped and a 451-4X open sight scores on 6-14-17 . It looks like I'm consistent anyway . I've got to get rid of those upper 80's scores before I beat my average . Still got another week , so I'll give it another shot next week , if the weather holds . Kirby

That's a lot of shooting and nice scores too . I tried shooting three sets the other day and gave up on the third because of fatigue was causing too many errors. Kirby
