What say ye, 99 or 100?

I'm learning towards a 99 but my friend that's a 3-P match director says it's a 100. I'll see him tomorrow and he's going to put an Eagle Eye scoring gauge on it.
Most definitely a 100 with 7, perhaps 8X. Difficult to tell without an overlay.

Second and 3rd pics says 10.. It is had to say other than 'in person.' Joe Haller would say-if you cant tell 100%, take the lower score. May even use a magnifier to score.

As usual for me the 25Yd match is a game of 8's, or a lack of 8s to put it precisely.
I just managed to shoot a set with just 3 of them, for a 471-10X.
I can attribute all 3 of them to poor follow-thru.
471 is my best in some time, but still hope to nail a set with no 8's before months end.

Now the 50 match, now that's different, its all about not shooting zeros !
i'd gladly take all the 8s I can get
Just shot a 160-1X, with the usual FOUR Zeroes

All the best,
Bob4BVM

Went out again today to tackle my "no 8's" goal for March.
Was not my steadiest day, a general BH of 8 or so.
I shot one bull and almost quit as it started me out with three 8's.
But I was determined to try so I backed out and did a 20-shot dryfire drill which showed up some of my problems, mostly with followthru as usual.

Put up a new set of targets and started again. I managed to get thru the set with 4 8's, but also had a 7 and a 5 (), which was a jerked shot. How is it I am still doing THAT !?
The rest were mostly 9s surrounding the 10-ring, a real dirth of 10s didn't help much.
I will try again on Friday, a no-coffee day for me.

Ended with a 461-6X on the scoped gun. But I was glad I stuck it out.

Next time,
Bob

Yes David, good shooting with the little Marlin !
I tried my old 10/22 last month with open sights, thinking a new trigger would help.
It didn't - I managed a 397 !
My eyes are way past the notch & post days, which is probably why my BP shooting has gone south as well. But I still enjoy it.
Thanks for shooting with us,
Bob

Thank you Bob ...

Thank you Bob for all that you do promoting and managing the matches here.

My Marlin has a good trigger. The Remington 597 that I have here in Florida has a poor trigger and I sometimes think the scope hurts me in that I see things moving around more. Not that they are actually moving more, just that I see it more. And in trying to get it to slow down or stop, I may make it worse. The Remington is muzzle light, not a good thing. The Remington 597 I have up North has a heavy barrel and a much better trigger and works better for me.

The CZ 452 has a 24x weaver scope, the Glenfield has a 16x. It was difficult to get a decent sight picture with the 16x after shooting the 24x. The target looked so...small.

I was absolutely thrilled with the 50 yd targets when I collected them. A very pleasant surprise, indeed.
