Archangel 10/22 disapointing

I picked up 1 from Optics Planet. I had to return it as the fit was so tight I couldn't try it to see how it felt. I know I could of taken my Dremel to it and made it fit but then I would of been left with a non returnable stock if I didn't like . I have a Kidd trigger but I don't know if that was the problem. Maybe I'll just wait as the stock stock isn't that bad. I saw the adjustable one that Boyds is coming out with I'll probably see what others say once it becomes available.

Check out the Victor Company 10/22 Titan stock ($169). I just ordered one and if they are half as good as what I've read about them then it seams to be an excellent buy.

A friend brought me one to put on a KIDD build and I can't believe how tight it is.

I'm hoping mine is. I haven't even seen one besides a picture. A lot of good reviews though.

Mine fit a little snug but I prefer it that way. It's the target stock.

You don't want to use a Dremel.

This stock is so tight the first time an action is inserted that it takes a lot of force to squeeze everything in. On my first one, I had to use a furniture vise. I've gotten a finger pinched between the trigger guard and stock badly enough to draw blood.

It will get easier after a few times, but it hasn't gotten easy on any of mine. The last bit of movement into the stock still happens when I tighten the action screw.

On the other hand, I don't have to worry about the action moving around like a teeter-totter in the stock.

Just bought this Archangel stock for my wife's build. Yes it's tight but not so bad I couldn't get the action installed. My wife loves it!

On the stock I have the hole is .040 narrower than the KIDD action. We tried to force it in and left gouge marks. I'm thinking some filing will be in order.

Here is a stock I got right before Christmas. The barrel is floated. It shoots great and I think it looks pretty cool.

I have the AAP1022 stock and mine is very tight but I believe it is better fit then my Boyds stocks. Gives you a orra of confidence I think. My only complaint is my fault, should ordered a Tan one instead of black.

Chapstick!

I overcame the tight fit issue by lubing the stock with some chapstick.

BTW the instructions note that some fitting is necessary with Kidd trigger groups because of a slightly different shape on the back.

On mine, one rotary Ruger magazine (black) fits fine, one (clear) hits the stock side walls, and one Steel Lips magazine (10 round) fits fine too.

Yes, that could double as a telescope at night for star gazing.
