If I sold my first rifle or a rifle that had some sentimental value due to hardship or whatever reason I would probably buy it back if someone take me down and offered it.

I tried to call but only got the answering machine. I left a message so maybe I will get a call back. I get attached to these things but I let go of a few over the years I wish I could have back. I'd probably eat the cost(probably more than most would pay) and give it back if he has a good story. I'm still going to refinish it.

Now that is funny. I tell you what I'd be willing to bet Savage never put out another factory stock that pretty. All the ones I have came with fence posts!

Chad... if your Dad's Lilja barreled HM2 is not shooting itty bitty tiny groups, there is something very, very wrong. That is an inherently accurate round and my carbon fiber barrel will shoot 1/2 MOA at 100 yards.

I highly recommend he have someone look at it.

Er... wait.....

Forget what I just said! Hey Chad... your Dad's HM2 is a dog. You should sell it me really really cheap so I can tear it apart and make another .22 out of it!

Well that my 77 and it's on its way to randy at cpc tomorrow. I'll order green mountain hm2 barrel for it down the road. The lilja barrel is going back to Dan fora refund. He blamed everything but the barrel. Two actions, both with hard triggers, my walnut stock and my dads boat paddle. A Swarovski, zeiss, and Nikon scopes, 5 types of ammo and three shooters. I took my cz out to see how they compared...they didn't and my cz needs a bore cleaning

There was a 10ish mph wind that was changing a bit but it shouldn't shoot that bad.

Seeker, that stock looks great! Real classy looking IMO. All of mine are bbl band stocks, I need to expand my small collection.

Langford, congrats on the new one. Make sure you post up some after photos when you are done.

Futurerider, you did a great job on that. It looked pretty darn cool in blonde mode, even better finished.
Thanks for sharing everyone! I'm betting there are still more out there though

Chad you are 100% correct. That is just proof that anyone can let a bad barrel get out...BUT him not just taking responsibility is odd. Dan has a reputation for great service and it sounds lime he didnt work too hard to make you happy.

He didn't get super rude but he pretty much implied that we just didn't know how to shoot. We sent the barrel and target back to him today. You win some and lose some.
Here is a better picture of my maple stocked 10/22.

Sure looks good in the sun!

Sneaky peeky of the Rem700 project...sanded to 800 grit, stained with walnut stain, buffed with a white scotch brite, and a few base coats of tru oil...many more days of tru oil to go, but that's the fun part.
