I inlaid a Marlin 60 with my sons birth year via a half dollar of his birth year. Also did some ivory inlays that included his initials. When I gave it to him on his birthday last year, he got so excited when he said, "Daddy it has my name on it!!!". I hope he never loses it.

My father left me two pistols, a 1939 Walther ppk and a Colt 2nd. Series Match Target that was made in 1950, the year I was born. I also have a S&W 45 ACP Model of 1950 with a 5" barrel that I found at a gun show about five years ago.
