Aviation mechanics use Hoppies to clean fuel injectors all the time. Pull them out, and let each one sit in a baby food jar of hoppies for a couple hours. The brass injectors come out nice and shiny.

If you have a barrel or whatever that has been painted with Krylon, hoppes 9 will take it off. Also getting back to the camo tape thing, I use veterinarian tape. No adhesive and comes in different colors including camo. Sold at a lot of farm stores like Tractor Supply.

Was impressed with #9 again recently; a couple of my M1 Garands had traces of some sort of 'varnish' in spots, probably some sort of ancient lube that had petrified over the years.

Neither mineral spirits or acetone would touch it - but #9 took it off with a little bit of rubbing.

Rain-X Bug and Tar Pre-Wash Gel will remove all the worst goo and is completely safe for painted surfaces. Even hardened chewing gum on painted surfaces just lifts right off. During love bug season here in Florida it is the only stuff that dissolves dried bug goo on the front of my SUV safely and quickly.
