I just inherit this Mark II from cousin, missing Magazine, with Tasco ProPoint Red Dot and strange set for to mount it.
Can anyone tell me what model this might be, the bracket blocks all information.
What do you think it's worth?
Mint condition.
Thanks

It's a KMK-512 Target - A stainless 5 1/2" bull barrel target model.

Value would be around $400 with original rear sight. The Tasco Pro Point and mount doesn't really add any value.

Looks like a Mark II Target with a 5.5" barrel in stainless steel . Value right now in "mint" condition ? I would say about $350 with out the Red dot. .
I doubt that it's in mint condition as I would be very surprised if that mount didn't leave some marks .

Something to consider is that the Mk II is considered by many to be the sweet spot in the Ruger .22 LR semi-auto pistol evolution.

It had a decent trigger, as well as a slide hold open and slide release lever not found on the Mk I and it didn't have the loaded chamber indicator and the magazine disconnect that came with the Mk III. The former works fine but looks bad, while the latter has a negative impact on the trigger pull and prevents the magazines from dropping free.

The 5 1/2" barrel is also noted for good balance and very good accuracy.

It also has a nice set of Altamont target grips on it. Those types of scope mounts do scratch up the receiver pretty bad but the green scotch brite pads would blend the marred metal surface back to close to factory finish. You have a nice gun there keep it and shoot it.

Back in the early 1980's when the Ruger Mark II first made the scene, many ideas arose as to how optics could be attached without drilling and tapping the receiver. While the mount you have on there, was no doubt, a thought with good intention, its not gonna win many trophies at an "optics beauty pageant". With some base and optics combinations that sit that high, elevation adjustment can be an issue by running out of adjustment.
Those clamp on/around mounts do have a tendency to scratch the surface where they're mounted, stainless rub marks are easy to remove though.

Value? Very dependent on where you're at. Best guesstimate would be what they go for in the same condition as yours on one of the national auction sites.

As a purist who's had a few of the MKIIs for many decades, I'd pass on that one at a gun show. Many would, unless it was priced very low. Like $200 even.

Thank you all for your advice, I own Mark III Hunter, and wasn't going to keep this since the grips are made for right handed and I'm south paw.
I never saw Red Dot mounted that way, very interesting, but don't think I'll remove when selling.

Thanks all.
Sandy

If you decide to keep the gun. I would be interested in buying you right hand Altamont grips.
