MATCH #1
DIVISION - Hunter
SHOOTER CLASS - A
FIREARM - CZ 452 Silhouette
AMMO - Norma TAC-22
OPTICS - Weaver V-16 @16X
TARGETS - 1/5 swingers
Chickens - 6
Pigs - 3
Turkeys - 3
Rams - 4
Total - 16
Notes: I was getting frustrated because I knew I was making good trigger breaks on the pigs and rams but they weren't landing on target. Put the bags on the bench to check my zero... 3/4 MOA low on the chickens making everything else just as off. Re-zeroed and checked all settings then ran a second round...
Round #2:
Chickens - 6
Pigs - 8
Turkeys - 5
Rams - 4
Total - 23
This score is much closer to what I usually shoot. Don't know why my scope was so low from the last match, but it goes to show it's a good idea to check your zero before sending a ton of lead down range and getting back a bunch of frustration in return.
Just got back from the local match, so here are today's scores:
MATCH #1 (meters)
DIVISION - Standard
SHOOTER CLASS - A
FIREARM - CZ 452 Silhouette
AMMO - SK Standard Plus
OPTICS - Weaver V-16 @16X
TARGETS - 1/5 iron NRA animals
Chickens - 8
Pigs -7
Turkeys - 7
Rams - 3
Total - 25
Notes: This is my best match score since I started shooting SBS eight months ago. Kind of choked on the Rams with two shots between the Ram's legs. This is my second "AA" score for Standard rifle.
Round #2:
Division - Hunter
(everything else the same)
Chickens - 4
Pigs - 7
Turkeys - 3
Rams - 5
Total - 19
Had a hard time connecting this round. Since the backstops are painted you can see how far off you missed, and many of these misses were really close to the animal. I think I was getting frustrated with myself considering my previous good performance.
If I had gotten just one more point I would have had a 20 which would have been my third "AA" score in Hunter. Missed it by one shot! Oh well, next time.
