Suppesor question

Does a suppersor cause a point of impact change of due to suppress velocity? Does it actually suppress velocity? I was thinking about a 795 "tree rat" shooter.

My 795 is my favorite and I don't want to change it's performance. I just want to quiet it down without any degradation of its performance

What say you all?

Yes, POI can move slightly when shooting with the sound moderator fitted.
This is easily compensated for by a slight re-zero, but the group size is usually, at least as good as usual, if not better!

Suppressors actually increase velocity slightly, 30-50 fps in my experience. Lot's of factors to consider as to whether or not they'll change your POI, but most of the time they will.

I couldn't agree more shooting a suppressed 22 is like no other .It's so quiet that you hear the bold move in a semi-auto and the impact of the shot .You can't get that from any other caliber even when shooting high velocity 22 .I use a Tactical Solutions Axiom and have seen little to no point of impact change or any decline and accuracy.

Does anyone have a 795 with the synthetic stock with a suppressor mounted that could post a picture? I'm curious about how it lengthens the barrel.

Here is a rather poor pic of my 795 in an earlier guise.

The sound moderator in this pic is the ParkerHale all steel model which measures 7" X 1" Dia.
