Thanks. I was familiar with the normal serial number calculation and thought this was the logical answer. Of course, logic sometimes goes out the window when companies assign serial numbers. Fun little rifle no matter when it was made.

Revelation - Western Auto stores

Sears, Ranger, J.C. Higgins - made for Sears, Roebuck & Co.

Speigel - Spiegel Catalog Stores

Western Field or Hawthorne - Montgomery Ward stores


If anyone knows what the stores in RED are, post away
I can't believe they made a Firestone Brand! Does anyone have one of these specialty made Marlins? Or has anyone come up some pics of these? Would they look any different?

Model 60 W

Just picked up a Marlin model 60W, Ser 073***** at Pawn shop, can any one lead to where I could find the age. It is very clean and in very good shape, it has a medallion in the stock about the size of a quarter and says "Shoot Safely".

s/n 07xxxxxx = 1993

Other than that I don't know about the medallion
