When it comes to adjusting front sights to move POI it's often a mess for folks to figure out!

You got that right! The only thing I can recommend is what I learned when I was involved with the M14 rifles. We were taught to use the acronym "FORS" for sight adjustment....................Front Opposite, Rear Same, as far as moving in which direction.
