10/22T Sling/Swivel question

Log in to see fewer ads
Hi everyone. After much research I have figured out that a 1" USGI sling does not exist. I don't want to make changes to the factory laminate stock. So, riddle me this. Would an easy solution be to cut off the factory sling swivels and use QD sling swivels? I really am not that bright when it comes to doing any of my own smithing.

Thanks.

You should be able to unscrew then counterclockwise and replace with 1 1/4" swivels or QD swivels. I did the former on my DSP.

The DSP comes with fixed 1 inch swivels, and I like them. I made a sling using a Delrin friction buckle and slide, and a few minutes stitching the slide onto one end. You can get one inch web and the Delrin stuff at a place that caters to backpackers, for about five bucks.

Put the naked end through the swivel, then thread it through the slide on the other end. Put the friction buckle on it, through the other swivel and back to the buckle. You can take it off or on in a couple minutes. I made it so that adjusted as small as possible, it still hangs a couple inches below the trigger guard. Works for over shoulder or hasty sling.

Or you could upgrade to a Boyt Harness 1" 1907 sling. They work great.

Hello,

I've got a 1" GI sling that you can have, but I recommend the Uncle Mike's 1.25" detachable swivels. Unscrew the original swivel and screw in the new ones. Done.

Let me know if you're interested in the sling.
