Eyeballing this sweet looking trainer but never seen anything like it?

It is a long distance purchase so there is no way I can handle it beforehand!

Can anybody tell if it is original? Wood finish? Is it military trainer?

The maker is VEB Ernst Thälmann Werk Suhl!

Any info?

Having a look around google I see that most probably someone cut the scope grooves on the front ring of the action!

All the pictures of these trainers I see have only 11mm rails on the rear part of the receiver. Looking closely at this gun in question I also now notice that the front and rear dovetail profiles are different.

So although they may do the job and I really like the look of this little rifle I will be passing on my attention to something else!

😢😢😢

Hey, smallborehunting! Seems like you have been checking out egun.de ? I bought the other KKV 1001 without the cut in rail: http://www.egun.de/market/item.php?id=6284575
The former owner removed the magazine but I was able to reverse this stupidity.

I am trying to find out more about the rifle's history. The history I know so far: They were built by VEB Ernst Thälmann Werke in Suhl, GDR (East Germany) and used by the FDJ and GST (Gesellschaft für Sport und Technik). All young adults in communist east Germany had to take part in pre-/paramilitary training and the KKV 1001 was used as military trainer guns.

Does anyone know more? I already read the linked threads.

Greetings from Germany
