It wouldn't be hard for someone with a lathe to make up some cylinder inserts, shaped on the outside to the dimensions of a .38 or .45 cartridge, and bored out to an inside diameter of a .22 LP chamber. The tricky part would be how to modify the firing pin to hit the rim of the .22.
