Well, the OP has updated his posting and reports the problem was solved by properly torquing the action screws.

Right. I don't have the same problem, but it's related, so I thought I'd attach it here rather than add a new thread. Maybe this wasn't a good idea.

I've never heard of a rifle that "sometimes" shoots well and other times does not, with other factors held constant. Maybe someone has an idea...

Below is the summary plot from the letter I wrote. CCI SV at 50 yards off bags. One shooter, two rifles.

It's not the scope it's not the rings it's not the action screws. I'm out of ideas.
If it were always just bad I'd just trade it in on a CZ where I bought it.

But it can be really good -- this is at 25 yards.
