Model GE rare or not

Came across a clean model GE at pawn shop a few days ago. It had a shorter barrel along with the 6 inch barrel that was numbered to the frame. I see that it was only made for two years, so what would be the going rate for this pistol?

Rare means different things to different people.

I created this chart for use in describing High Standard rarity.

http://www.histandard.info/PDF2015/R...08-10-2015.pdf

The Model G-E in all forms would rate PR-13, the 4.50" barrel version PR-11, the 6.75" version PR-12, and the Factory two barrel combo PR-11.

Over 50% of the combo's I have researched are not factory original.

Value depends greatly on the condition and whether or not the gun you are referring to is a true factory combo or a owner created combo. Neither of which is known.

The numbers on the short barrel are electro etched and do not match the lower. Do you think the combo would be worth 800? Grip finish matches the age of the pistol and the metal is 95 percent No rust or pitting.

Smile GE "worth" ?

As SGV stated, rarity can be somewhat subjective , even though he has done an excellent job quantifying various models. The numbers help to dispel the B.S. However, "Beauty is in the eye of the Beholder ", and, that is a lot harder to quantify. Personally , I am gobsmacked by the GE ; to MY eyes it is the prettiest High Standard . Is it worth $ 800 ? A second barrel , even if not of a factory pairing , is still going for $100 ~ 175 on GunBroker /e-Bay / etc . Then the question becomes : is it worth ~$650 ( $800 -150 ) ? I'd be tempted , but , I have a nice one already . Good Luck !
