.22 Ammo Box Collection Value?

Log in to see fewer ads
Aloha,

I have a very small collection of older .22 ammo boxes. I found the link at the top of this forum so I can identify what I have. My next question involves value. I am just kinda curious if there is a website or other reference (other than auction sites like Gun Broker) that might place basic values on the boxes. I am thinking of selling my collection in order to fund a rifle project so I would like to know a basic value of my entire collection so I can price it accordingly.

Any help you can offer is much appreciated.

Do a search for Wards Collectables. They do online auction on such items.
BUUUTTT keep in mind they have a large viewer base and some with deeeeep pockets. Sometime you can use their closed auction prices for a guide and sometimes not.
Post it on the for sale here, some one might be interested.

The PRICES!!!

I don't have anything worth those high price jobs. WOW!!!

With that said, the Christmas version of CCI SV went for almost $200 a brick. I have a case of that stuff........

Anyway, thank you for that website. It will give me a guideline of what my collection may be worth. The one problem I have is that some of my boxes still have ammo in them. I cannot ship it out of state. So if I sell the boxes to someone out of state I won't be able to ship the ammo in them.

You absolutely sure you can't ship it across the pond?

Wow... for that price I'd be tempted to sell some of mine. I've got an unopened case plus 5 or 6 bricks and 2100 rounds of the 2015 Christmas.

The problems are the airlines won't fly it any more. And the shipping by boat and hazmat fees are high and will take away any ideas one might have had to ship it back to the mainland. It is like buying something from Amazon and finding out the shipping costs more than the product you purchased. There is a reason why ammo prices are at least 25% higher here than on the mainland.

I have a childhood stamp collection that is worth the value of the stamps that have not been used/canceled. I recommend you shoot your collection and enjoy. If you have just boxes well ??

Is that a two cent stamp?

About 20 years ago I used to be an online stamp dealer as a side job to pay for my hobby stamp collecting. You are lucky your stamps are worth face value. Back then dealers were paying approximately 50% to 75% of face value for stamps and then using them for shipping.

Would help to see what you have.

Generally, empty boxes of common ammo won't bring the value of shipping. Empty boxes of collector ammo ($20 and up) will only bring a fraction of the value of a full original box.

Might try selling locally first.
