Anyone heard anything about Hogue updating this grip for the 22/45 Mark IV? I loved this grip on my Mark III. I'm surprised that Hogue hasn't released anything for the 22/45 as of yet.

Thoughts?

I've one of the Hogue slip on models on my Mark III 22/45, the one without changeable grip panels, and it does help add a little thickness and improves the grip some.

Naturally, a few months after I bought it, the MK IV came out, but that's the way it goes.

I like the look of the Volquartsen Volthane Ruger grips and am considering one of those for one of my MK II's.

I think they have one for the MK IV iirc.

My latest correspondence with Hogue about the rubber grip with finger grooves

was June 13th when I received this follow-up:

Alan,

Thank you for following up regarding the Mark IV process. We have released the G10 only at this time.

We are still in R and D. We are building the tool to mold the grip currently and we hope to have a final product approved for retail purchase towards the fall.

Keep checking in and I will add your request again so that owners can see continued demand for this product.

Thank you for your continued support.

Best regards,

Kara

Thank you for the information. Glad to hear they're working on it. Sad it won't be around until the Fall at the earliest but better late than never. I'll go ahead and email them as well. I really want this grip!

I asked Pat Hogue if I should wait on him to make a set for the MKIV 22/45 or to just butcher on his existing grip to make them fit and he told me that it would be many months before he started working on the production of them and that fitting a set wasn't a bad job to do. He sent me a picture of a set that he cut on to fit. It's good enough for me so I'm not going to wait for an official set. Here is Pat's picture.

GreggK,

that sucks to hear but then again I have not the slightest clue what all it takes to make something like this. Perhaps I will just go ahead and order a Mark III set and give it a go myself as well.

Is there anyone out there that has already made the modification that can post some photos of what exactly they had to do to make it fit properly? I just went ahead and ordered one and any information would be appreciated.
