Just for fun xtra LW build

My youngest is leaving for school and I am `upgrading` (AKA appropriating) his old Xmas gift.. Started life as a carbine with short no band stock and fiber optics sights; I have a Boyds Evolution thumbhole and Kidd ultra light 16.5" bbl.
Going to put on a Leopold 1-4x with a TRS25 dot on a tube mount rail.
Bolt was tuned by CPC and I look forward to having some fun with this rig.
Will post pix and results soon !

sounds like it "started life" as a Compact, not a carbine

and while it sounds like a nice build that you have planned, it doesn't sound like an xtra LW just a LW..as there are lighter components than what you are planning on using out there...like the beyers barrels and axiom stocks

While I understand what crackedcornish means, I think yours sounds xtra LW compared to my 20" SS bull barrel wooden stock build!

This one tips the scales at a bit over four pounds, you can easily shot it one handed.

A good shooter too.
Tac-Sol barrel, re-chambered and threaded by Que
Re-worked bolt by Que
R/T trigger guts, tuning by yours truly
Boyd's Barracuda stock
R/T scope rail
Millet red dot

Yes - its stablemate is a factory 'light varmint' tapered bbl; quite accurate but a wee bit heavy to lug around !
