That is a great price for all that work, I have read about Clark Custom on this forum, all good.
My 1988 77/22 shot 40gn mini mags about like Eds, but everything else poorly. I believe the problem being excessive chamber length and a bit of head space.
My rifle had from the factory a Bentz match chamber, only it was reamed about .040" deeper. Shortening the chamber end of the barrel helped considerably with standard target rounds.

I guess the proper persons to ask are those at Clark's but I wonder if they can work similar magic on a newer 77/22?

I had al older Ruger 77/22VBZ in .22WMR and it was a dog in accuracy. It was beautiful to behold, but groups of 1.5" with many brands of ammo were the norm. The same ammo in my Winchester 9422 XTR with 22" bbl totally kicked its butt. The 9422 was always sub MOA.

I sold the Ruger. I could never find a .22 at a competitive price point, and I have not seen a new blued or gray 77/22 with a wood or laminate stock in years. I see them used, but at ridiculous asking prices.

That 77/357 would have been interesting, I was not aware of them. I have been looking at the Model 77 (tang safety version) Internationals lately in .308 or .30-06. I still have one of the old Steel trigger guard/floorplates that Ruger used to offer back then. Alloy floorplates are the bane of my existence.

For $145 they will perform a trigger job, match chamber, match crown, tune extractor, and perform a function test. They only perform this work on older 77/22's with a v-block receivers. http://clarkcustomguns.com/gunsmithi...ger-1022-7722/
That's really interesting because I have a Clark that was delivered to me about 4 years ago with the newer, threaded bbl. They bored and chambered a Lothar Walther bbl and put the action into a nice, laminate, thumbhole stock, too. If they are only working V-blocks, then they changed their policy from a few years back.

Accuracy-wise, she is a bit of a disappointment. It has never shot tack tight and she is very ammo finicky. Certain lots of Lapua Center-X has been the best so far - but this is a Bentz chambered gun, not match.
