Not been here for some time. Picked up a Stevens 416 US Property marked.
Shoots great,, haven't done a real accuracy test. But does really well on my small 2" flipper style metal at 75' .

Very nice! Those X barrels shoot reall well and you have the original sights. You can get a spare insert from Numrich. They only have a post or circle but at least they are available for the "tombstone" or "mailbox" front sight.

Very nice! I just bought a barreled action and a stock and am putting one together. Does anybody know what the screw size is in the mailbox style front sight to hold the aperture in place?

Haven't had the screws out of the mailbox sight an my ranger-- they are tight. My Ranger (416 sold by Sears). has springs and balls under the screws so the insert pulls up without turning the screws.

I have a Ranger-Stevens 416 also. Where is a good place to get spare mags and a manual? Numrich and Brownell's are out of stock on the mags. I haven't shot it yet but hope to in the next weekend or 2.

I sell original magazine $45-60 depends on condition. Non available now as they are rather hard to find.

Military manuals for Stevens 416 are in the Military manuals TM 9-280 and TM 9-1005-206-12
Both can be found on line.

My Ranger came with a Stevens 10 rounder. I got a aftermarket 10 round off E-Bay and picked up a used Savage 5 round at a gun show.

Rear sight is Steven on these and used the small diameter screw size. The modern Centra or Gehman's won't fit without an adapter

Jack First/Out Back

I just got a sear from Jack First. Try them a try or give Wendell a call at Out Back or keep an eye on E-Bay.

Good Luck, T

Neat trainers. Mine shoots well but my 513T seems to be a bit more accurate.
